  Info

With the distinctive boy-girl vocals of Silvana Batisti and Marc Herbert, underscored by keyboards, jagged guitars and electrobeats, the German-Italian Woog Riots are a cross-over between electropop, postpunk and Indie.

Sporting flashing light necklaces, with psycho- glasses specially provided for their audience, the Woog Riot sound provides fuel for a rocket-in-your-head trip to the dancefloor.

Their underground hit "People working with computers", from 2008 album PASP, brought the Woog Riots some welcome airplay in the UK, both from John Peel successor Hugh Stevens and the German equivalent of Radio 1 in Berlin.

The band’s upbeat live shows have been celebrated from across Europe from Helsinki to London and across the Atlantic in New York and San Francisco. A crucial factor in their musical journey has been Silvana Battisti's and Marc Herbert’s experiences as club DJs, with fondness for acts like LCD Soundsystem, Chemical Brothers und M.I.A..

The Woog Riot’s 3rd album “Post Bomb Chronicles“ was mixed in Hamburg by producer Tobias Levin, with a planned release set for 2012.

The band started its popcareer in 2004 putting together their own and international compilation album in tribute to iconic Manchester band The Fall and Mark E Smith.

This was followed by their debut single with the poignant title King of Pop on Hamburg’s renowned label “What’s So Funny About“, with debut album „Strangelove TV“ (2006) featuring lofi Electro-hit „Queen of Pop“ providing a clue to their future direction. The album drew favourable press comparisons with the New York Scene surrounding the Moldy Peaches.
